The Blossom Shop is a Navajo Woman owned flower shop located at 1993 State Road 602, Gallup, NM 87301. The logo for the The Blossom Shop, represents a successful Dine woman whose identity is rooted in Dine culture. The concept behind the logo reflects the culture of a Dine woman along with the chosen name, The Blossom Shop. Oral Dine narratives teach that male and female Dine warriors who defeated their enemy would raise into the air a crescent-shaped metal found on their opponents' horse headstalls to indicate success and victory. Today, this crescent-shaped design is incorporated into Dine silversmithing and is typically found at the center of a squash blossom necklace. The Dine people call this crescent-shaped metal a naja, which is translated based on its literal crescent shape. The 8 purple flower petals complementing the naja on the inside represent each side of an octagon-shaped female Navajo Hogan, surrounded by additional blooming turquoise flowers. Purple indicates the owners' favorite color, but more importantly, the color turquoise emphasizes the Dine people's acknowledgement of the natural world and their relationship with all living beings.
